Inspired by the Presencing Institute’s concept of generative scribing, Note Poetry is a practice of listening from the heart and noting words and phrases during keynote presentations and community conversations. The collections of words are then crafted into “poetry.”

According to Kelvy Bird, generative scribing is a distinct social art form that facilitates group learning and cultural memory. Scribes create larger pictures that integrate content, prompt insight, and aid with decision-making. “Generative scribing” extends this art by attending to the field of energy and relation between people, and to the emerging potential of a system.

Note poetry utilizes the same concepts but the output is written instead of visual.

Sometimes….

Note Poetry from Art of Presencing Hub with Gabriela, Janilyn, and Sarah. October 31, 2025

Three people gather. Radiant with smiles, they are happy to meet. In this context, she courageously steps in. She feels the poetry of her internal barriers and prepares to open, to make room for whatever is about to happen. Sometimes when she opens to people, to the moment, she feels free and falls in love.

At other times she is here, and wants to be there. She wants to move, to glide, to discover a second door that leads to colour, presence and light. She has a choice, so she steps back and starts to reimagine the situation.

She sees the same things afresh and feels into the realm of possibilities. Inside her clarity and fluidity grow up together. A reinvention is taking place. Her outside begins to reflect her insides or is it the other way around?

She goes deep into the circle of connection, feels held, and blooms.
