Moving at the Speed of Trust
The amount of time it takes to find the healing depends on the depth of the hurt. It could take one ceremony if you are working one or two generations back. If we are seeking the source of an ancestral hurt, it could take months and even years to get to the primary ancestor at the center of the ripple that moves through the line.
Either way, we need to build trust with each other and with our ancestors. The quality of our attention depends on the inner place from which we operate. For this reason, we will spend time with meditation, journaling and other practices to quiet the mind so we can hear the messages of our ancestors.
Spirits of the Land & Ancestral Healing
Mother Earth said to me, “Your healing is my healing.” So, the spirits of the land are an important part of the process. We need to cultivate our relationships with the more-than-human world, including the spiritual planes. Developing these relationships and getting permission to perform ceremonies on the lands is essential to the relational nature of the work. Sometimes, bearing witness can be the work.
The Process
We will start with storytelling, developing trust and determining the lineage calling for healing. Next we will work on strengthening the ancestral connection, eventually designing a ceremony to repair the hurt. Integration and next steps round out the ancestral healing method.
The legacy we are aiming to leave is one of love, beauty and care, and when you feel the ancestors on your side this seems possible.
